A QUICK GUIDE TO QUEENSTOWN, NEW ZEALAND

Queenstown is located in the South Island on Lake Wakatipu, New Zealand. There is so much to see and do in the area such as explore the beautiful mountain ranges, valleys, lakes..also just remember to rent a car for your time here as there is so much to see!! I booked a car from Snap Rentals, as they had the best rates and the KM was limitless!! From the airport to town it is about a 15 minute drive, so once you arrived to town be sure to drop off your bags and go straight to explore the town!

Shotover Jet.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE VISITING Q U E E N S T O W N

  • The local currently is the New Zealand Dollar.
  • Fuel is super expensive.
  • Woolworths is called Countdown and they sell booze there.
  • You don't need to tip!
  • There really is a LOT of livestock getting around (Sheep. Lots of sheep. Everywhere).
  • Burgers are all the rage!
Aoraki National Park, Mount Cook - Hooker Valley Track.

WHAT   TO  D O   I N   Q U E E N S T O W N

Hiking - My all time favourite activity to do in Queenstown. There are so many you can do such as Aoraki National Park - The Hooker Valley Track, The Blue Pools Track etc.

Skiing - If you visit in the winter time, definitely go to The Remarkable's and Cornet Peak for the best skiing and snowboarding!

Cruising - There are many companies offering lake cruises from Queenstown - definitely do the Milford Sound one!

Bungy Jumping - if you got the adrenaline rush to do this, there are many to choose from!

Quad biking & Horse Riding - if your into riding horses or driving a quad bike, than this is the best activity for you especially at Cardrona - Experience the Cardrona.

Queenstown Skyline Luge - The best activity to start off your trip is going to Queenstown's skyline and going on the luge!

Town Hopping - There are so many towns to visit such as Arrowtown and Glenorchy!

Osen Hot Pools - Definitely you must book a spa at the Onsen Hot Pools, it has the best view of Shotover River!

Jet Boating - If you like driving fast, might as well experience Jet boating, try out Shooter River Jet or Dart River Jet.  https://www.dartriver.co.nz/

Queenstown's Skyline Luge.

WHERE  TO   S T A Y

Holiday House: Frankton 984 Frankton Road, is were we stayed at. A holiday house which I must say would have to be the best decisoion ever. Who doesn't love getting a whole house to themlseive, especially when your sharing with family and also has the best view of Lake Wakatipu!!

Azur Lodge: An apartment-style accommodation, great choice for couples.

Blue Pools.

WHERE  TO  E A T
  • Fergburger, the most popular eatery in Queenstown that ALWAYS has a line.
  • Cookie Time and Bar, the best cookies in the whole world and shakes!
  • Devil's Burger, also has some pretty amazing burgers and wraps.
Olsen Hot Pools.
